The end of an era

Sex and the City, arguably one of the best shows about women & friendship has ended. The ending was wonderful, while I would have loved for it to go on forever, I think the ending was just perfect. I cried (I would've cried more if Matt weren't in the room) during more than one scene, but I think the one that got me most was Magda's little "That's Love" talk with Miranda. Second place has to go to Samantha saying to Smith, "You mean more to me than any man ever has", it was just so sweet :) - along with the flowers that had yet to bloom.

There have been talks of a movie, but I personally think it would be a bad idea, I will miss the show dearly, but a movie might spoil our 'perfect' ending. I think they just leave well enough alone and leave what ultimately happens to the 4 gals to our imaginations.

I'll end this lil post with some of my very favorite lines from SATC from over the years:

Samantha: "I have monogamy! I must've caught it from you people"

Carrie to Aidan "No, no...I am going for a walk. You can stay here with your shoe-eating dog while putting on the rogaine and the speedstick!"

Carrie: "(to a cab driver who tells her it's a no-smoking cab): Sir, we're talking up the butt here; I think a cigarette is in order"

Miranda (to Charlotte about keeping a 'vagina journal') - "What kind of journal, Dear vagina, why so blue?"

Samantha: (these are tied) - "I am dating a man with the funkiest tasting spunk" and "I think my maid is using my vibrator"

AH. I could go on forever :)

Farewell, so long!

Friday Five

1. Are you superstitious?
Not really. I think there are a few superstitions that I believed in as a kid - like walking under ladders, breaking mirrors and stepping on cracks.

2. What extremes have you heard of someone going to in the name of superstition?
I went to lunch with a co-worker to a Chinese restaurant that almost smacked a cup of tea out of my hand, because she thought it was bad luck to have the first cup of tea out of the pot. She made me pour it back into the pot and then re-pour myself a cup. Then, when the cookies came she wouldn't let anyone take their own cookie. It had to be given to you by the person sitting across from you. I thought it to be a bit bizarre.

3. Believer or not, what's your favorite superstition?
That you can't see the bride in her dress before the wedding, I think I would adhere to that one.

4. Do you believe in luck? If yes, do you have a lucky number/article of clothing/ritual?
I believe some people are 'lucky' in certain situations. I do have a 'lucky' number.

5. Do you believe in astrology? Why or why not?
I don't believe in it, but I think it's interesting. I have read my horoscope on occasion and did check to see what sign I was most compatible with, but I don't take it too seriously.

Friday Five

1. What's the most daring thing you've ever done?
Oh my. I don't think I should post that on the web.

2. What one thing would you like to try that your mother/friend/significant other would never approve of?
There isn't anything I can think of. I don't think my significant other would disapprove of anything I wanted to do anyway.

3. On a scale of 1-10, what's your risk factor? (1=never take risks, 10=it's a lifestyle)
I'm about a 2 - 2 1/2. I'm not really that daring... God, I hope I'm not boring!

4. What's the best thing that's ever happened to you as a result of being bold/risky?
Marissa's dad got a Shop Vac! haha.

5. ... and what's the worst?
Sadly, I really don't think I've done anything so daring/risky that it's had a negative impact. I am a pretty play it safe kinda gal.

We are the CHAMPIONS!

YAY!!!!! Another Super Bowl victory for the Pats!

Whatta game, I thought I was going to have a heart attack when I saw Carolina get that last TD. Thank goodness once again for #4.

Let's hope we keep up this momentum and for once have a New England sports dynasty!
